Pros

Some benefits are decent for the nonprofit sector but not exceptional. The union is a good space for non-management staff, and is made up of some kind and smart people. Remote work environment.

Cons

The many cons include: -Upper managers are unskilled in the content area (only one VP/Chief has elections/civic tech experience); -Lack of clarity and direction from upper management on the mission/vision; -Lack of cohesiveness across teams; -No room for growth for employees & no interest in retention (probably over half of all employees left DW in 2021/2022); -Hostile work environment for anyone with an open association to the union; -Very obvious favoritism and personal bias by upper management; -Unrealistic expectation of workload per person; Those are all in addition to significant racist, sexist, and anti-union tones in the org culture modeled by upper management.

Flexibility and positive remote culture, benefits, being trusted to produce good work towards the mission

Cons

Nothing significant at this time. The culture used to have a lot of problems but things have turned around completely

Pros

Remote environment, collaborative people and creativity.

Cons

Not much room for upward mobility in the organization, too much demand on over-structuring workflows and processes
