Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear you’ve not had the best experience working at our company. While there’s always room for improvement, we highly value transparency and open communication. One example of what we do to support this is having weekly open forum sessions with our leaders. We keep these casual, anyone is free to ask tough questions and speak openly. We love that these meetings generate good discussions and debates. As for our hiring practices, we have an established process in place with multi-stage interviews where candidates will meet with multiple team members. We have set requirements for each position. While we value referrals, they represent a very small percentage of our hires. When someone refers a friend, this person is not involved in the hiring decision. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with us and helping us to improve Demonware.

Pros

- Free lunch and snacks - Free gym - Internship pay is competitive. The pay is average if not slightly above market. - Discounts on company games - 35 hour work weeks until release time - Lots of vacation days for full-timers - Fun company events - Good benefits for full-timers

Cons

Like others said, if you're under a good team, then I think you will really enjoy your time there. But for how small of a company, even the team to team experience can be quite different and some teams are very poorly run. - Management is juvenile and leadership is lacking. Because it grew so fast during a short period of time, I felt some managers that got promoted up are quite inexperienced and has no idea how to manage subordinates. - Cross team communication is non-existent. Leading to wasted time and effort. My team also lacked communication because my manager did not believe in meetings. - Lack of career growth depending on your role. Never once had 1-on-1 time with my direct manager to discuss goals and expectations. No performance reviews of any type. - Lack of opportunity to receive and give feedback. Hard to grow my career or improve the company when there is no way to give feedback. While no companies are ever perfect, the biggest red flag is that management never recognizes there is a problem. - Interns are not used as potential for future hiring and might not be given interesting work to do. Don't expect any mentorship. As interns, we were told to not answer questions because it would bother full-timers. If you fail to execute a task, you would be treated as being incompetent. For these reasons, I would not recommend any interns to intern here. - Always sitting in the grey area of HR violations. (HR didn't do much while I was there) Be prepared that there might be borderline sexual comments directed at people.
