Pros

-A few talented and well-intentioned individual contributors -Exposure to a fast-moving environment (largely due to constant internal changes rather than strategic growth) -Opportunity to learn how not to run an organization -High travel requirement (if that's your thing) -High drinking culture at events (again, if that's you're thing) -Cheap, but good health insurance -Schedule flexibility, depending on direct manager

Cons

Leadership is the core issue at this company. Expectations are unclear, priorities shift constantly, and KPIs change frequently without explanation or consistency. Employees are often evaluated against moving targets, making success difficult and demoralizing. The compensation plan is vague and lacks transparency, with inconsistent application across teams. This creates frustration and distrust, especially when performance metrics are unclear or revised after the fact. There is a significant lack of accountability. Some employees openly refuse to do their jobs, yet face no consequences. At the same time, favoritism is prevalent, with certain individuals receiving protection, flexibility, or advancement regardless of performance. This creates resentment and undermines teamwork. Bullying and harassment are ongoing issues within the culture. Some employees are allowed to intimidate or mistreat others without intervention from management. Complaints are often ignored or minimized, reinforcing a toxic environment where unprofessional behavior is tolerated. Internal conflict is high, collaboration is weak, and leadership actions frequently contradict the company’s stated core values. Processes are over-complicated, adding unnecessary bureaucracy instead of supporting productivity. Customer support lacks consistency, which negatively impacts both customers and employees who are left to manage the fallout. These issues have resulted in extremely high turnover, as many employees leave due to burnout, instability, and a lack of trust in leadership.
