Pros

Benefits are good. Managers are all nice people and fun to be around.

Cons

There's always a lot of fighting and yelling between the owners and also between the owners and managers. Not flexible at all when it comes to work from home time, or additional time off needed. Raises are small and infrequent.

Pros

They have a few outstanding people working for the construction division.

Cons

They are a typical builder/developer. They almost exclusively build for themselves. High turnover. It's been 2 years since I left. Almost everybody I worked with at every position in the field is no longer with the company. Only 2-3 in the office are still there. Using contingency money is always a battle because the owner of the construction company is also the customer. The estimating team is making bad deals knowing that they are bad deals. Their system is built around hiring in eager but unqualified superintendents, underpay them, over work them, and if they quit.......fine. We'll just hire another warm body. The owner is a typical 3rd generation owner. Daddy and Grandpa built the company. Now the 3rd gen talks and acts like they built it. They burn bridges with subcontractors by screwing them over money. There's a lot of animosity floating around the project the whole time you are trying to build it. They aren't the worst company in the world. But there's better options.
