Pros

I worked as an assistant manager. You learn a lot of people skills and you learn a lot about yourself as a manager at a fast paced job like this. Beneficial if you're young. If you're working at the right franchise you can make great money and you can always be sure to get your hours.

Cons

If you are understaffed, which most stores usually are, you will be worked to death unless you have a strict availability due to school or other responsibilities. Working 50+ hours a week is the norm. On top of long hours, you have a lot of responsibilities with trying to keep an OER ready store, keeping food costs low, managing every single person and making sure every task is done. If you are terrible at time management, this is not the position for you.

Pros

Can be a fun environment. Can provide opportunities to make decent wage, highly dependand on the franchise you work for.

Cons

Some positions pay very low for the work they put in. This makes it harder to retain good employees to keep operations at optimal levels. Who wants to do 3 times the work as drivers for significantly less money?
