Pros

The people there do seem like they want to create a healthy environment for all of Downtown DC

Cons

They are severely short staffed, need much stronger visions and structure to achieving that. A lot of the time your work is just putting out fires that shouldn't have happened in the first place. And many employees do not have clear definitions of their roles causing a lot of chaos and confusion.

Pros

Great mission, consequential projects, and tech support never let me down!

Cons

The BID has a strong mission and full backing from the City, but there’s a lack of oversight and accountability when it comes to staff performance. Some colleagues regularly mismanage projects or let things slip, and there’s rarely any internal consequence for it. Externally, we’ve earned a reputation for having a lot of ideas without the follow-through to make them happen. Specific individuals seem more interested in pitching new ideas than actually executing them—they lack both the competence and commitment to see things through. They have their own reputation at the operational agencies for flaking and it falls back on the rest of us. It feels like being in a school group project where someone coasts along but still shows up for the final presentation.
