Pros

- They hire new AZ Drivers

Cons

My experience with Ekkinox was disappointing, and I’m sharing it to help others who may be considering employment with them. I applied online and was quickly contacted, with an emphasis on the need to relocate. As I was unemployed at the time, I agreed without hesitation. The hiring process involved filling out forms, background and reference checks, a drug test, obtaining a FAST card, and passing a road test. I completed all of these steps successfully. Afterward, I was informed that in order to receive the job offer, I needed to provide both a lease agreement and proof of address change on my driver’s license. These were presented as the only remaining requirements. At that point, I began searching for housing, but securing a place was difficult without proof of income or a letter of employment—neither of which Ekkinox would provide until I had a lease. This created a catch-22. Eventually, I found two rental options: a basement unit with no outside windows, and a condo. Out of blue, I was given a 24-hour deadline to submit a lease agreement. Since the condo couldn't be viewed until two days later, I had no choice but to take the basement unit just to meet the deadline. I submitted the required documents, updated my driver’s license, and was hopeful to begin work soon. Instead, I was told the company was waiting to hire more people before starting onboarding, in order to make training cost-effective. I ended up paying rent for over a month without income or a start date. At this point, I asked myself “Why did they ask me to lease if they were not ready to move forward?”—despite the fact that I was explicitly told the lease and address change were the final conditions for employment. Eventually, training began. It consisted of four weeks riding with a trainer, followed by an evaluation. But midway through training, I was laid off without warning. Even if I wasn’t performing at the highest level, I was still in training—and to me, training is supposed to be about learning and improving, not being penalized before the process is complete.
I hope my experience helps others ask better questions before committing to Ekkinox. If you're considering this company, make sure you get everything in writing and think carefully before making life-changing decisions based on their promises.
