Pros

-Tight small team dynamic (4-5 employees) -Satisfying work -Extensive benefits package (Dental, Medication. Retirement Investments, Health Spending Account. and more) -Great management at all levels I interacted with -Discount on paint and supplies -Uniforms supplied at no cost, and reimbursement for steel-toe boots -Paid time-off and sick days

Cons

-Loud machines -Heavy lifting (upwards of 70lbs lifted from floor to shakers for metal pails of paint) -Risk of getting paint on your clothing (if on apron you would wear it as a badge of honor) -Long periods of standing and physical labor

Pros

Dulux is an amazing company. Learned a lot and met some incredible people. Love the customers and contractors. I enjoy my job immensely.

Cons

Some Managers do not know how to honor and respect their employee. After working long hours, coming in sick when I clearly shouldn't, staying late at times without pay. I am told when I was clearly exhausted from closing everyday that I am on shift, that if I don't like it I can quit and have paper thrown at me in front of another employee. That was one incident. Then another is where I am yelled at in front of customers and employees because someone complained about not getting the 35 cents discount. That was when I was new. Now I understand why a lot of the employees would rather be on their phones and do as little as possible, just enough to get by. This manager actually called 4 other managers and they all agree with his behavior. Do they actually know that it is against PPG policy to speak to an employee like that and throwing things at them is completely wrong. That is abuse. Of all things in front of another employee as well. I don't think these managers get the full understanding of what happened. This is how some management lose good employees. Managers would have to make do with employees who just wants to get by. Employees who would do the bare minimum and then those managers can complain how they can't get good people to work for them. The truth is these types of manager do not deserve to have good employees. Good employees know their worth and would eventually leave such stressful environment. Never mind the wage aspect. That alone is something else. It could be worked on. What are they doing to raise the morale of employees. Is there opportunities to actually move ahead?
