Pros

4 years with Jones and couldn't be happier in any way. Was it tough getting started? Yes, but so is starting out in any other business where you are your own boss. Is financial services for the faint of heart? No because it will surprise and frustrate you every day. You have to really ask yourself if you are capable of asking for someone to trust you with their retirement savings. No, this business is not for everyone but if you stick with it, follow the Jones plan, don't overthink the process or try to reinvent the wheel you will be just fine. This business takes a deep personal commitment to your communication with your clients. If you cannot see yourself asking someone for their business and their trust then don't bother applying.

Cons

Asking people you don't know to trust you with their retirement savings is weird at best. Door knocking sucks, but it separates those who really want this career from those who aren't willing to do something that makes them uncomfortable.

Pros

- Decent benefits programs. - Teammates who cared about the quality of work they provided and the people they worked with. - Direct superiors who were people of integrity that I respect immensely and wish nothing but the best for.

Cons

- Recent removal of remote work for all associates regardless of how long they had worked remotely previously (13 years in my case). This push to onsite work will damage long term profitability and likely cause a mass exodus of talented associates (if it has not already). - Massive amount of offshore outsourcing that has greatly reduced the quality of work at the home office. - Lack of flexibility regarding work schedules that has severely damaged work-life balance.
