Good opportunity if you like sales. If you want to do what's best for people, stay away - Financial Advisor Edward Jones Employee Review

Pros

Lots of support from senior advisors in your area. You don't have to know anything about investments, just building relationships with clients and prospects. Their systems and back office support will make proposals for you and guide you through anything you don't know how to do. Travel incentives and asset bonuses for assets brought in.

Cons

If you don't drink the Kool-aid it will be hard to sell their recommended products. Cheaper alternatives are available for clients elsewhere, so it becomes a moral dilemma on doing what's right vs putting food on your table. I wouldn't sign friends or family as clients simply because the fees do not justify the value provided.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
