Pros

There's a car park for starters

Cons

As previously stated, there is micro management, you go the extra mile, then it's considered the norm under the caveat that's its a small business and we're all in it together, only you're not. If possible, stay clear

Pros

I've been here less than six months so these are my experiences so far: - Good annual leave for a small business (25 days plus bank holidays) - Friendly colleagues who all add value to what we do - Operating within different sectors gives greater scope of content to work on - Work is praised when it's good and feedback is given when it can be improved or done in a different way - Business has a lot of potential to grow in terms of size and stature - Business is willing to pay for training/qualifications if appropriate to role - Very good work/life balance - Office dog - helps break the day up - Perks for introducing new business opportunities

Cons

I've been here less than six months so these are my experiences so far: - More staff required for business to keep growing (not through a lack of trying to employ new people). - Not sure on HR process if situations arise that make it difficult to speak to Line Manager or Managing Director (although there's quite an open approach to talking to Senior Management already). - Not seen any visibility of existing Above and Beyond reward scheme since starting. Would be good to see someone rewarded on a monthly basis as a lot of good work is going on across the business. - Introduction of a retention scheme would be good to attract and retain new people to the business

Pros

Company is an SME in a technology environment. There are a small number of staff which means that everyone has to step up to the mark in their role - there is no hiding place and in most instances the role is standalone and therefore no one to do the work for you. The flip side of this is that you are trusted to get on with your role and it's explained how it all stiches together with the company. The business is Investors In People accredited and increased to the Silver award at the last audit which is a tremendous achievement for a business of its size. There are regular monthly KIT (keep in touch) meetings with line management which links in with KPI's and Objectives so everyone knows what is required to achieve and any challenges can be addressed when raised. Once through the probationary period very few people who leave and it is a close knit environment.

Cons

What it is like within the business is highlighted throughout the interview process. Because it is a smaller business, dealing with big customers as well as B2C and because you are in charge of your own role it can be pressured and you are needed to do what you say you can do. If you are up for the challenge its a great place, if you can't then this company is probably not the place for you.
