Pros

The experience you get at EB is amazing! With it being a regional firm, you get a lot of variety with the clients you work on, and the clients are large enough that you still get the experience of seeing how larger companies operate. I am completely satisfied with what I have learned and feel that I would succeed in any financial role I take on after this. The people are amazing as well. The Boise office partner group are fun people that truly care about your success at the firm. As you gain more experience and move through the ranks, the hours become somewhat more flexible, which is something that I love. Employees get 4 weeks of PTO, which is unheard of at most companies. The Boise office is on the 8th floor of the Wells Fargo building downtown and the firm pays for your parking.

Cons

As with any public accounting firm, the long hours become unbearable after time. The longer you're there, the more responsibility you pick up, and you have to continually work those hours to be able to keep up with all the tasks for the audits you're responsible for. The manager/partner group in the Boise office for the most part is great about jumping in to help, and the experience is awesome, but after a few years it's just hard to keep doing it.

Pros

Good amount of holidays and PTO. Lifestyle spending account and remote work were great.

Cons

In an attempt to get me to leave, little by little, my job duties were taken over by others in the department. Partners let this happen and did nothing to help me. Eventually, they eliminated my role. I documented multiple instances where the work environment was incredibly toxic but no one cared. HR never even contacted me for an exit interview. My experience was that if you did not fit into the boys club you would not succeed. There was a culture of micro-aggressions, cruelty, and badmouthing others when they weren't in the room and excluding anyone who did not fit their views.
