Pros

The pay, benefits and flex days are fair to good.

Cons

The work environment is negative. Ten of the last eleven people hired over the previous 2 years have quit or been let go. These include Engineers with MBAs or multi degree individuals so they are not your average staff to begin with. President is very difficult to work for. Very moody and treats staff poorly. Don't worry she treats the family members just as bad. Expect to get that's a dumb idea, that's a stupid thing to say (spoken to family mebers by the president in front of the staff). If she treats family like that how do you think you will be treated? Highly critical of the male gender. There is no training. This is a sink or swim approach and if you are not strong in Primavera or one of the other scheduling programs you will fail. Not you may fail, you will fail. Remember 10 of the 11 failed or to put it another way you have a roughly 9% chance of being succesful here. Don't be delusional in thinking you can make it there. Everyone's "friendly" in the interview. Finally, google working in a small family business if you're even thinking about working here. Run

Pros

You will learn P6 and potentially travel Canada. Otherwise there aren't any.

Cons

If I had known of the high turnover when I arrived. I wouldn't have taken the job. Eleven out of 12 people hired in the last year have either quit or have been terminated. These aren't your average people. They are engineers or engineers with MBAs. If they can't make it here how will you? The president takes a sink or swim approach. Don't expect much in the form of training. If you have little experience with P6 or other scheduling programs your chances here are slim, i.e. the last 11 of 12 people hired...... There was an admin person in a meeting and she had forgotten to do something. She spent the rest of the meeting shaking in fear. The president is very aggressive and can be hostile.
