Pros

-EL has great name recognition and is respected for the work they do -The mission of electing more women to office is inspiring and important -There's room for title advancement if you're able to stick it out past a year or two.

Cons

-Junior and mid-level staff are paid very little and expected to take on a great deal of work -There is NO work/life balance. You are expected to be available at any time, including during time you've designated as "off" -There's no opportunity for salary negotiation and the salary evaluation and promotion process is intentionally unclear -Diversity should be prioritized more sincerely -The risk of burn out is real

Pros

Loved working at EMILYs List. Everyone there is so passionate and really wants to help you. They have great networking and cross-department training resources.

Cons

The internship itself, at least for design, was a bit unstructured.
