Pros

Constant feedback on everything. From how you speak to how you create a slide to the content of your material. You learn a lot in a hurry.

Cons

Honestly you’re basically shamed into completing a great places to work survey…. But it isn’t great. It’s miserable. And everyone here is. You’d think there would be culture in a company full of HR professionals but mandatory coworking day just finds everyone unable to speak to each other because they have to reach their billable hours. Feedback starts to feel a lot like mean girls club where radical candor is more like belittling. I’m super disappointed. Perhaps this place once has culture but the only culture now is who can bill the most hours. I’ve always had fun in HR but this place has made sure to remove any fun wherever possible. Don’t forget you t sheets!!

Pros

Mostly remote work, scheduling flexibility, lots of independence, great team members, and fun projects in the hospitality industry (and food perks to go with them); the company is growing quickly but doing so strategically. Lots of opportunity to grow as the company continues to expand.

Cons

The company is young/small so benefits are a bit less than what they'd be at a larger firm; the projects supported tend to be smaller business so the scope of work can be also be limited.

Pros

You make good connections working with some of these bars and restaurants.

Cons

The company's business model raises serious ethical concerns. Their approach often involves pressuring bars and restaurants, as well as small business owners, into believing they urgently need services that are, in reality, overpriced and unnecessary. Once clients are signed on, they often begin nickel and diming them which feels predatory. Internally, the billing process is chaotic and stressful. Employees are routinely criticized for both over-billing and under-billing the same clients, creating a confusing and demoralizing environment. There is constant pressure to bill +40 hours a week, but little consistency in guidance or expectations. The company culture can be described as cliquish and toxic. There is clear favoritism, and professional interactions often feel disingenuous with people being friendly on the surface but then often talking behind people's backs. Feedback is delivered frequently to employees, often to the point of being overwhelming, yet leadership is not receptive to feedback in return and becomes defensive when challenged. Professionalism around offboarding is also lacking. Submitting a two-week notice usually results in your departure being made effective immediately, with no regard for transition or closure and often times leaving employees unemployed for a few weeks between jobs. The PTO policy is subpar and does not support work-life balance. Lastly, the company is led by a husband/wife team who seem like they hate one another.
