This can create a perception that opportunities are not always distributed fairly. People who raise concerns feel labelled rather than listened to. The work can become repetitive, with a heavy focus on governance, reporting and stakeholder management. There is also a significant emphasis on sales, internal initiatives and business development, which can sometimes outweigh the focus on delivering meaningful consulting outcomes.
