Pros

If you like orange, you're going to like the office, there is a lot of orange. Great car park, room for lots of cars and few pot holes. Nice office. Lots of progression opportunities due to excessive levels of hierarchy and high staff churn. Lots of after work socialising.

Cons

A truly terrible place to work. The only aim of the company seems to be lining the pockets of the senior management and board of directors by ripping off clients, delivering zero value and creating a sweatshop style production environment, where unachievable targets result in staff morale that is non existent and the churn of staff means there's almost no point getting to know any one. This place is ran by a mix of egotistical, border-line psychopaths and managers of such low intelligence, it's remarkable they even remember the way to the office. I'm fairly certain my manager was unable to spell her own name. A terrible, "cliquey" workplace environment exists, where unless you're friends with the right people, your career is going nowhere fast. Advancement through hard work and merit is an alien concept here. Saying that, there is a lot of "advancement" of sorts. In what I can only assume is an attempt to stop staff from leaving, there are about 20 layers of management, all with silly made up titles, that you can be made when you do try to leave, or if you are especially good friends with your manager. Okay, 20 is an exaggeration, but in my team of 16 people, there were 8 layers of seniority. That seems like a lot. And none had a title that explained what they did, or made any sense. The work churned out for clients is of such low quality, the relationships with clients is almost as bad as that of the staff. If anyone was ever to look into exactly where their money was spent, I think the term "fraud" and "daylight robbery" would likely be used. Luckily though, the ever ready team of sales people are ready to line up fresh victims, erm I mean clients, to replace the ones that inevitably leave, as soon as they can. In an industry known for it's "snake oil salesmen", Epiphany truly is the worst offender. If only Epiphany spent as much time and effort working on its own clients campaigns as it does on its own clever advertising, sales and branding, it would likely be very good. Unfortunately it does not. Constant bickering and a blame culture between internal departments and terrible management and lack of vision at a senior level means that change and innovation is impossible to achieve, in an industry where change and innovation are everything. Epiphany are still implementing an approach to digital marketing that at best, is 5 years out of date, and worst was never in date. It is however an approach that they can sell and make money out of, so why change, is the attitude. Don't let the bean bags, pool table and exposed brick walls fool you - this is a truly terrible place to work for, and with.

Pros

Genuinely some of the most helpful colleagues you could wish to work with A once decent social calendar (now deteriorated through budget constraints and profit grabbing) An element of creative freedom in how campaigns are executed Some real characters who have a passion for what they do

Cons

A complete lack of parity across departments in terms of employee treatment. Client Services being counter-productive in managing work-load / campaigns and thus not being fit for purpose (either top management doesn't see this or cannot be bothered to rectify it). Poor digital knowledge in a role that requires a real holistic understanding of all channels. Pay that does not match industry standards or reflect the level of commitment expected. They pay as little as possible for as long as possible. Rather than rewarding success and development they look at how they can keep your salary as low as possible. The rule of promotions and pay increases only at set 6 month intervals is not consistent across departments. They leave it too late to reward and thus lose the actual talent that delivers what the client values. Neglect of certain departments meaning morale is widely inconsistent across the business. Management that are in their position through who they know & how cheap they are, not what they know The favouring of internal promotion into board-level positions where department biases are perpetuated & subsequently nothing really changes.
