Pros
Great pay and conditions; a strong connection with the community; an authentic values based leadership approach along with a contemporary leadership performance framework. Ergon Energy also has a strong appreciation for the importance of health, safety, well being and work-life balance.
Cons
A government owned corporation which is very political. Also has a lot of unnecessary procedures and procedures and change is very hard to introduce, with resistance forces centred around cultural and political interests. While technical training in relation to electricity distribution is first class, the limited company investment in learning and development has lead less return for employees in relation to career benefits and a high use of consultants, particularly over the last few years with not a lot actually being visible in the way of sustainable gains and benefits.
