Pros
The facility and equipment is beautiful and state-of-the-art. I worked in almost every unit of the hospital via rotations and they are constantly updating the units. Management is generally very nice, but they will always have a top-down approach. I transferred units twice in my 4.5 years here and my original hiring managers were wonderful, but they will always give preference to RNs over CNAs, regardless of situation.
Cons
Unfortunately over the last 3 years management in FMC has become very cold toward the CNAs (not myself personally, just the group as a whole). Not sure why because we work our butts off to support the other staff, especially the RNs. Great place to work if you are an RN or aspiring to be. Otherwise, you are the bottom of the totem pole and they will treat you as such.
