Pros

boasts a pool of exceptionally talented individuals. Working alongside such intelligent and skilled colleagues can offer valuable learning opportunities and insights into industry best practices. For those considering joining Exponent, it may serve as a steppingstone to gain experience and enhance their resume. However, it is advisable to view it as a short-term opportunity.

Cons

- Exploitative Business Model: The company's business model appears to exploit young talent for the benefit of senior-level executives and managers. This is evident in the significant disparity between fees charged to clients and the low remuneration offered to junior staff. - Lack of Career Development: Exponent lacks structured career development programs for its employees, particularly new hires. This can leave employees feeling adrift and overwhelmed, with little guidance or support. - HR Practices: The Human Resources department, led by Sally Shepard, has shown a lack of empathy and concern for employee well-being. Generic responses and a disregard for physical and mental health further exacerbate the negative work environment. Personally, I encountered a traumatic experience as a result of excessive workload and illness, coupled with receiving inadequate treatment from the HR department. I regret all the sacrifices I made during my time at Exponent. - High Turnover and Instability: The company's continuous hiring without adequate project allocation reflects a revolving door mentality. This approach contributes to high turnover rates and a sense of instability among employees. This puts lots of mental pressure on junior staff.

Pros

Many consultants successfully use Exponent as a stepping stone to larger tech companies. The project work can sometimes be very interesting and some consultants appreciate overtime and bonuses for long hours (albeit many feel they would earn more overall compensation at larger tech companies).

Cons

The company has very high expectations of its consultants and doesn't always provide the resources necessary to achieve their expectations. In order to grow after the first few years, consultants are generally expected to generate their own business, but some junior consultants feel they are not fairly given credit for business they help bring in. Many consultants feel the performance rewards are too delayed.
