Pros

If your a friend of the owners you can be a complete baffoon and keep moving through the different departments until something sticks. There isn't much honor or respect in that for the friend or the rest of the staff who actually have to work for a living. The only people who are excited are the owners don't know if it is real.

Cons

I've worked here for 8 years and I have counted 6 times the company has picked up its belongings and left in the middle of the night. Super shady!!! Bill collectors calling support number, they never seem to have money.

Pros

Firm is well positioned and has tremendous potential to expand into additional regulated industries. Excellent work/life balance and opportunities for advancement. Very happy with my choice to leave an established investment bank to join a forward thinking firm.

Cons

None to report at the present time.

Pros

External IT offers an innovative approach to companies looking for a Citrix-based hosted platform. I enjoyed my daily job duties administering the environment for one of their clients. I felt that my colleagues were team players and supported me in accomplishing my mission. The company also has a flattened leadership structure, which affords it's engineers greater ability to interact with their superiors and feel connected to the direction the company is heading toward.

Cons

The corporation is rapidly growing, however, in my opinion the roads have become congested and neglected along the way. At this writing, External IT recently completed an aggressive recruiting campaign. Results will be seen over time, however many departments are understaffed and overworked. The Cloud Support team is slow to resolving issues for clients in a rapid manner, managers seldom have the bandwidth for personnel engagement, and the management of each client's environment could use major improvement. I believe that External IT is more focused on growth (quantity) than a comprehensive approach to doing IT (quality). Finally, I caution prospective employee's looking for a career with External IT. Learning and growth opportunities are abundant, but longevity in a company offering attractive benefits, work/home life balance, and sound practices are not defining characteristics of External IT.
