Pros
Like working with extended family. You only work with one person the entire day which is to be your manager, but because they are changing and growing as such a fast pace, you may be working with another assistant manager at the same store for training reasons.Management is trained to be top notch, my manager was extraordinary!
Cons
Because you work with another assistant manager, there could be much competition. I had an another assistant manager asked me why I took a coffee break. Business model of stores is antiquated. Instead of Assistant Managers, do store customer service and let each store be managed with one person not two. There is not enough work for two people to do the entire day, at times bored, be prepared to clean and do maintenance. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. There needs to be more female top level managers. The culture is still stuck in the 1970's. Too many males not enough females to management roles. No flexibility when it comes to working hours, hours long, traveling to other stores is expected, most employees who have been there for a time, feel guilty for taking a lunch or break. IF you are going to hire assistant managers, please do not hire someone who worked at Taco Bell and think they will be able to be competent at getting along with other co workers who where hired with diverse working backgrounds. Just does not woek. I saw one manager degrade his assistant manager in front of sub contractors and myself when I was only with the company a few weeks.... not a good thing to see as my first experience and I lost confidence in the company at that moment.
