Pros

Flexible hours and ability to work from home. Smart team-players. Nice facilities. Free beverages and snacks.

Cons

Smart team-players who are disappearing every day. Meetings are long because people want to be 'visible' by asking questions for things they should know, or showing off their 'knowledge'. Management rewards those 'visible' people and calls them leaders, while the real workers are ignored and passed over for promotions. Older people are now being ignored while the focus is on bringing in junior employees. Ageism, I think it's called. Francois and his new senior staff are leading with sticks and constantly saying 'this is going to be a lot of hard work'. We were working hard before you got here. All old senior staff and VPs retired to 'spend more time with their families' that included kids who are off in college.

Pros

* I enjoyed the collaborative team culture. Everyone was supportive and willing to help each other. * The work-life balance was good, and the overall working environment was relatively low stress. * I had opportunities to work on large-scale enterprise products and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Cons

* One area I felt could be improved was compensation growth. As my responsibilities and technical skills expanded, I was looking for opportunities that offered stronger career and compensation progression.

Pros

Many smart and kind people trying to do good work.

Cons

Leadership struggles with articulating a clear, coherent strategy and tends to be overly focused on tactics. This tactical orientation often leads to siloed thinking and reinforces a culture where teams prioritize their own agendas over organizational goals. IT, in particular, frequently emphasizes internal politics, process, and bureaucracy rather than delivering measurable business value. Overstaffing exacerbates these inefficiencies, creating more layers of decision-making and slowing meaningful progress. There is a strong emphasis on projecting a “Digital,” “Product-led,” or “Agile” identity—sometimes veering into digital theater—rather than focusing on doing IT well, owning core responsibilities, and strategically delegating or letting go of what falls outside their scope. This focus on perception over performance can undermine credibility and distract from real outcomes. The organization also suffers from a lack of effective checks and balances. The culture tends to shy away from calling out leaders who distort reality, which reduces accountability and allows misaligned priorities to persist. In this environment, meaningful collaboration is often hampered, and opportunities to course-correct are missed, ultimately limiting the organization’s ability to serve customers and the business effectively.
