Pros

Great concept as others have stated. Eminence products are nice and love that they only use clean ingredients. Really lovely staff for the most part. Good place to start out if you have no experience. Pretty busy.

Cons

Extremely low pay. As an Esthetician with prior experience, I currently make a couple cents above minimum wage. The only way to make a living is to push clients to buy add ons that they don’t necessarily need. A lot of the add ons (not all) are completely pointless and don’t necessarily make a difference in the client’s skin. Despite what management believes, clients can absolutely tell when you’re not being straight up with them in terms of what their skin needs. Management absolutely prioritizes sales above client experience. Estheticians that share this view are constantly praised, while those of us who view our clients as people and not a walking wallet are reprimanded. Although the products are great, they are slowly replacing back bar with Face Haus branded products which are fragranced artificially and just generally not as high quality as what we’re used to using. In terms of management, there seems to be no CEO. (?) The COO, as many have mentioned, seems to nice in meetings but has her own penny - pinching agenda. Extremely high turnover in terms of management. Managers are constantly getting hired and quitting because they cannot handle the workload and low pay.

Pros

Competitive hourly pay with opportunities for growth and advancement. The role provides valuable hands-on experience, and there are opportunities to develop sales, client service, and leadership skills if you’re motivated.

Cons

Leadership lacked professionalism and transparency. In my experience, there were a few occasions where S and E discussed disagreements they had with one another, and those conversations eventually made their way back to employees. That made it difficult to trust leadership and created an uncomfortable work environment. It also felt hypocritical at times to receive coaching or advice while knowing that employees—and sometimes even the person being coached—had heard negative comments being made behind the scenes. There seemed to be too many hidden agendas, not enough transparency, and assumptions were often made instead of having direct conversations. Some leadership roles did not seem like the right fit, and employee concerns did not always feel strongly advocated for.
