Pros

If you’re fresh out of college and need experience, FMX may be fine (assuming they stay in business). For anyone with a drive and motivation to make a difference, years of experience, or expertise in your field, RUN.

Cons

As nearly every review mentions, the pay is low and the benefits are below industry standard. They only offer 2 weeks of paternity leave, which is unheard of for most tech companies in 2024. Many national holidays are not given as company holidays. PTO is not unlimited, but “unplanned time off” is supposedly unlimited. They have fired people for using too much, though, so it’s obviously not truly unlimited. If you are considering working for this company, you should first review all “vice president” level employees on LinkedIn. You will find that nearly all of them have less than 10 years of experience, which is much lower than average experience for VP level at any size organization. FMX likes to think “promoting from within” is a great thing, but they are a case study in the Peter Principle (promoting to level of incompetence). It is the blind leading the blind, and this is felt sorely at every level of the company. Please don’t overlook this major red flag.

Pros

Great place to work if you need an entry level sales job or want to relive the clique dynamics from your high school years.

Cons

It’s difficult to encapsulate how poorly run this company is. As others have noted, it is the living embodiment of the Peter Principle as most executives at the company were hastily promoted from within. As a result, they are woefully inexperienced, incompetent, and unprofessional. And they treat the business more like a social club than a workplace. The highly inexperienced department leads have such a tenuous grasp on the breadth of their responsibilities that it creates an unworkable environment with continual strategic whiplash. We did not work towards any KPIs or tangible goals, likely because the VPs don’t even know what they should be aiming at. I have never been unimpressed with nearly everyone at a company prior to my time at FMX. The few seasoned professionals that are there look around at each other with an unspoken understanding that it is closer to an office mockumentary than an actual place of business. You will not learn anything that will help you in your next role, nor will you be compensated well enough to tolerate the gross incompetence littered throughout the ranks here. I could not recommend working at FMX less. If desperate for employment, consider fast food until another opportunity arises.
