Pros

- The people at Famous are wonderful. Lots of exceptionally smart people trying to transform some truly impressive technology into a business (seriously, the visual complexity of Famous' output is unparalleled in the no-code web design space) - The company culture is very warm. Everyone is a human first, before they are an employee, and coworkers are always understanding and helpful - The new CEO has brought a degree of focus on product/market fit that is very interesting to watch unfold - Not another CRUD To-do list app

Cons

The company has been around for ~8 years, originally as stewards of an open source library before pivoting to try and run a true business. Lots of the cons are related to that history: - The ups and downs of financing rounds are non-trivial. As with any small company, acquiring financing in an increasingly discerning investing market is challenging. The long history of poorly defined product/market fit goals under the previous CEO has made some of the initial investors tepid. That being said, the new CEO has been leading the company in an easier-to-justify-financing direction (and, to the previous point, no one else can really match the final product produced, which certainly garners some investor interest) - Many different go-to-market strategies means that some areas of the codebase have been through quite a few different lifecycles, each leaving a small imprint. Untangling that can be quite challenging. - Opportunities for direct mentorship require initiative. As the product and company goals are still in flux, there is not as much room for institutionalized mentorship opportunities like might be found somewhere more stable. The flip side of that is that there are plenty of opportunities to take initiative or deviate from your normal day-to-day responsibilities.

Pros

New CEO is injecting new life into the company, has vision, direction, focus, leading the company through a historical pivot to e-commerce. Product - huge focus on the overall product health and roadmap for e-commerce. Along with polishing existing capabilities additional intergenerations in the pipeline. People - Employee well being emphasized, restructuring, and growth opportunities. Plus the customer engagement between company and customer is the strongest it's ever been. Profit - focused on making recurring revenue and scaling up quickly.

Cons

Currently a very small team making challenging choices between limited time and limited resources.

Pros

This is a friendly, tight-knit office where everyone gets along and works together. We are growing and taking part in some fun, exciting projects! Everyone works extremely hard, but the relaxed office atmosphere allows us to still have fun. Every Friday we have an awesome happy hour and there are always delicious snacks and drinks around the office and free lunch every day is amazing! Our management couldn't be nicer or more supportive. They are always accessible and provide guidance and support when needed. They are also very open to feedback and take time to talk and listen to everyone's ideas. Employees get challenging projects and everyone is always working hard and learning something new, but we are also able to help and support each other when needed. This office is collaborative, not competitive. Famous also does it absolute best to take care of it's employees. Our healthcare is one of the best I've ever had and I know first hand that they pay everyone as fairly as possible. We also all receive stock options and have a bonus program so that every employee commission on whatever profit we make. It's a huge incentive for everyone!

Cons

401k would be nice in the future, but at a small startup I wouldn't expect one.
