Pros

Benefits. Paid weekly. Recommend as something short term to pay a few bills.

Cons

Not paid enough for the type of work. Non-union and it shows. They juggle hours to save company money. Payroll makes mistakes often and it takes too long for you to receive your money, hopefully it’s the correct amount. There no set off time on PM shift regardless of what your contract says. A manager once told me that we are done when the freight is done, not to mention they keep adding more freight as the night goes on. Good luck working the day before a holiday because chances are you won’t be off until the actual holiday morning around 3 am or later. Your aren’t paid triple time for working the holiday either, like some companies. There’s a sketchy clause in the employee offer letter that says sometimes overtime is mandatory based on need, but they always need you to stay because of the amount of freight and goals they try to reach. This type of work puts a lot of stress on your body and if you work AM shift there’s no differential for starting you workday during the graveyard hours. You have to work like crazy to receive a decent check and then Uncle Sam taxes you like crazy. One time I worked double shifts and for one week my gross was about 1400$ but I only net 900$. Also, make sure you keep track of your hours because payroll is notoriously paying people straight time rates and not the appropriate overtime or double time pay rates. Definitely not a career although some get stuck and make it a career.

Pros

Beat the traffic to and from work. You get a combination of active work walking around the warehouse and office work at a computer.

Cons

When express and ground merged, some of the admins decided they weren't going to do any of the new express tasks that needed to be done. Management either didn't seem to notice or did not care as they never intervened or addressed this disparity. A coworker with my same job title was in the air conditioned office all day, working on tasks that were not a priority while I was getting slammed with work that was required for my position. If that is what management wanted, that is fine. But it was never addressed to the team. Management doesn't address or care about these things as long as someone does it.
