Pros

FedEx offers a decent tuition reimbursement program that helps if you are like me and had to pay college out of pocket. The hours don't interfere with most classes and meeting minimums nets a decent pay. The work is relatively straight forward. You get to learn various pieces of airport equipment and stacking can be very enjoyable sometimes.

Cons

TLDR -Job not worth the pay -Bad culture -Virtually no incentive to do better Pay is way too low and the benefits don't help you much if you're younger. Overworking with no rewards is a big problem. No matter how much you do you will likely see yourself making as much as a new hire that has come in years later since FedEx only offers universal pay "raises" (like 2%). The requirements to work here are way higher than the pay suggests. Airport paperwork and multiple tests are needed. On the topic of those badges if you happen to lose it, that's a 75 dollar fee and you can't work until you get a new badge meaning one easy to make mistake takes almost a 4th of a weekly check! Management is near non existent and the reward for working is usually some cheap dessert. And don't even think about bringing up these problems upper management will hit you with the "It's like that because we're family" thing then proceed to do nothing about it. The culture of this job promote laziness, you are paid hourly yet told to go faster for no rewards which means to optimize your pay you should work slowly and squeeze as many hours out as you can.

Pros

Easy to apply, fast to get hired (no interview process) and the pay

Cons

Very rude management, lack of care for safety, no drinkable water (all filters are in the red and have been since I started) They have cameras everywhere and are constantly watching you but say you can’t bring your own phone in because “people steal them”? There is junk everywhere. Lots of trash everywhere (employees drinks and food). They want you to work and eat on the line instead of giving you breaks to do so. They get upset when you use the bathroom or fill your water bottle even if you’ve been working for 3 hours straight but if you clock in at an area 2 min walking distance from your work area you’re “stealing time” I’ve noticed people of color get treated differently. The HR department has some of the most prejudice employees so there’s no real equality if you have conflict with someone. I’ve never been, but it feels like a prison to go in and out of the building and lastly you don’t work a consistent schedule. You leave when they say you can.
