Pros

-FedEx has operating companies throughout the US and across the globe, so there are lots of opportunities to do different things and meet many types of people. -Diversity and a great culture are a key focus with senior leaders. -Management is generally helpful and cares about their employees. -Growth is important to the company, so there are many opportunities to learn and grow with access to learning materials, such as books and courses.

Cons

-Upward progression is difficult for most. -Many employees I worked with had been there for 20 or 30 years and there was little to no accountability on performance, except for a surprise layoff every 8-10 years. -Leadership teams tend to be like a grade school click and was demotivating to see others advance just because of political reasons (and not because they were actually qualified to lead). -Very little accountability from leadership teams to employees observed. -Hiring practices in my organization for the last 10+ years I was there were solely focused on only hiring young, out of college employees.

Pros

Easy to apply, fast to get hired (no interview process) and the pay

Cons

Very rude management, lack of care for safety, no drinkable water (all filters are in the red and have been since I started) They have cameras everywhere and are constantly watching you but say you can’t bring your own phone in because “people steal them”? There is junk everywhere. Lots of trash everywhere (employees drinks and food). They want you to work and eat on the line instead of giving you breaks to do so. They get upset when you use the bathroom or fill your water bottle even if you’ve been working for 3 hours straight but if you clock in at an area 2 min walking distance from your work area you’re “stealing time” I’ve noticed people of color get treated differently. The HR department has some of the most prejudice employees so there’s no real equality if you have conflict with someone. I’ve never been, but it feels like a prison to go in and out of the building and lastly you don’t work a consistent schedule. You leave when they say you can.
