Pros
Working with individuals and providing services for them is great. Developing relationships and trust with individuals has been worth coming to work daily. The pay has steadily increased as well as the benefits.
Cons
Management is the conduit that saps all the energy and fulfillment out of the job. You can't have one good week without something negative being brought to your attention. No changes are made to make the job easier. One staff works with three to four individuals in large houses that require constant cleaning and comments when the house is not perfect. There is constant turnover, which requires staff to work lots of overtime. There is no respect given to workers who never miss work and fill in for those who do miss work. The Eastern Shore employees live too far from the headquarters to benefit from the activities offered. The hourly wage is not going to keep employees, but a good job environment and culture will.
