Pros

The actual functions of the job are excellent. You are trained frequently, and the pay is pretty good.

Cons

Management seems to not care about their subordinates. If you do a not great job at selling one day, they write you off as incompetent indefinitely. This job is not for the faint of heart.

Pros

This is the first company that I've worked for where upper level management truly cared about its employees and the overall mission of the company. Everyone from the CEO on down is accessible and available to hear ideas and help build up professional skills. Everyone has high expectations but, honestly, I would expect nothing less from a successful organization. You are asked to do a lot but it's all attainable and you are rewarded for your efforts. The Credit Union also has a career builder program that allows staff to build their knowledge for various roles throughout the organization as a springboard for promotions. Many supervisors and managers started as entry level staff; it's great to see a company that promotes from within! There are also great team building experiences and fun motivators like random catered lunches, fun staff parties, and casual dress days (t-shirts and shorts, yes please!). Lastly, the Credit Union has a pretty extensive benefits package that not only includes a fantastic health/vision/dental insurance plan but also 401K with credit union contributions (free retirement money!).

Cons

Some departments have fewer employees than other like-sized credit unions. I suppose this could be viewed as a con, as it means greater responsibility. But, as I mentioned in the Pros section, hard work is rewarded at this organization.
