Pros

Paycheck (if they are not underpaying you) Some co-workers/ former supervisors are still good friends of mine. Meeting new people everyday. Good deals on merchandise.

Cons

Hours: they expect managers to work 45-50 hours a week. 50-55 hours during the holidays. Even though they say they are good about work/life balance, this is however a lie, you have no life if you become a manager. Coming in at 8 am and sometimes leaving at 8 pm multiple times a week. You're only allowed to have one Saturday a month, if that. They have multiple management team in the stores but you cannot rotate the weekends. Pawn/retail: they have forgotten that Cash America started as a PawnShop not a resell shop. They've become so money hungry lately that is uncomfortable for people to even come in to pawn their items. SMILE: The SMILE program focuses on customer service and they want everyone to get with it. Floor general has to be there at all times. God forbid you fall behind on other stuff that's actually important because you'll be an angry email stating why that's not getting done, but they want you to be on the floor at all times. What they want you to do is, to clone yourself to be on the sales floor and the other in the back office managing inventory. Stores: Cash America does not care if the building is falling apart or if water is coming in from the roof. If we don't have the budget to fix issues we don't fix them. They do not fix AC in the back warehouse of its broken. God bless the 20 year old people who are pulling items for inventory in a hot Texas summer.
