Pros
- There are still some truly brilliant, kind, wonderful people left - Decent selection of free snacks - Flexible work-from-home policy - Low standards & little-no accountability in many departments. Obviously this is only a “pro” if you’re unmotivated & lazy & content working for a dysfunctional company.
Cons
- Management team strongly lacking management acumen. At first I wanted to give them all the benefit of the doubt (many really do seem like nice people), but after year after year of poor business decisions and empty promises and a struggling business I gave up on that. - RAMPANT nepotism of the worst possible kind. I lost count of how many times during my 3+ years there when kind, hard-working people were laid off unnecessarily while lazy, rude, incompetent leeches on the management team were promoted simply because they “go way back” with the founders/ and/or their golf buddies and/or their parents are important people/ and/or no one else on the management team has the guts to stand up to them and have a “difficult conversation” with them. - HR, aside from several truly wonderful employees, is NOT to be trusted with anything confidential and NOT worth seeking any sort of advice/help/etc from. You’ve been warned! - Benefits are pretty crappy: no 401k match, limited insurance options, etc. - Pay is pretty crappy: aside from the aforementioned leeches on the management team, most employees are paid significantly below market. Competitors frequently “poach” from Flashpoint ALL THE TIME, but the reverse never happens. Hmm I wonder why?! - Company simply isn’t doing well financially, largely due to the aforementioned reasons.
