Pros

There are still a couple of nice people there.

Cons

Flashpoint has seen over a third of its company get laid off starting in November and continues to hemorrhage top talent as they grab their life preservers in search of a boat that isn't capsized. Poor leadership in many areas of the organization have led to highly toxic bullying and clique behavior with some of the worst sticking together in an effort to push everyone else down. Most of the top analyst talent is gone with the exception of very few. HR is non existent and turns a blind eye to the destructive culture right along side the rest of senior management. Too concerned with the flashiness of marketing instead of putting out a sound, consistent offering in product and services. Under performance of lofty and unrealistic sales goals coupled with lack of innovation and execution has lead to the complete deterioration of company and culture.

Pros

- There are still some truly brilliant, kind, wonderful people left - Decent selection of free snacks - Flexible work-from-home policy - Low standards & little-no accountability in many departments. Obviously this is only a “pro” if you’re unmotivated & lazy & content working for a dysfunctional company.

Cons

- Management team strongly lacking management acumen. At first I wanted to give them all the benefit of the doubt (many really do seem like nice people), but after year after year of poor business decisions and empty promises and a struggling business I gave up on that. - RAMPANT nepotism of the worst possible kind. I lost count of how many times during my 3+ years there when kind, hard-working people were laid off unnecessarily while lazy, rude, incompetent leeches on the management team were promoted simply because they “go way back” with the founders/ and/or their golf buddies and/or their parents are important people/ and/or no one else on the management team has the guts to stand up to them and have a “difficult conversation” with them. - HR, aside from several truly wonderful employees, is NOT to be trusted with anything confidential and NOT worth seeking any sort of advice/help/etc from. You’ve been warned! - Benefits are pretty crappy: no 401k match, limited insurance options, etc. - Pay is pretty crappy: aside from the aforementioned leeches on the management team, most employees are paid significantly below market. Competitors frequently “poach” from Flashpoint ALL THE TIME, but the reverse never happens. Hmm I wonder why?! - Company simply isn’t doing well financially, largely due to the aforementioned reasons.

Pros

The company still has some brilliant researchers. It is a good place to learn the basics.

Cons

Company used to have one of the best intel teams in the entire industry back in 2016-2018, however, now the company is under-performing: most of the top analyst left, while client relationship desires better. The company is caught in a cycle of managerial mistakes decreasing the already-mediocre quality of product. Nominal career growth (virtually all you get is a number or adjective added to your title after a year of work (if you will be able to handle for that long). Minimal job security: the company had a massive lay-off of 30% of workforce this fall and there are no indications that this won't repeat.
