Pros

Honestly not much. Remote work sounds like a nice perk until you realize you are expected to be online at all hours. The US team was excited and passionate about Flora's mission of "sustainability," but now most of those employees have either quit or been laid off and replaced with cheap offshore labor.

Cons

The cofounders have no clear vision for the Company, no background in eCommerce, and have no idea how to successfully manage an eCommerce brand. I don't know how they have convinced any entrepreneurs to sell them their brands. Management is extremely dishonest in all areas. Bonuses make up a significant portion of employee comp, but employees are laid off right before bonuses would be paid. Sales targets are completely unrealistic and unachievable for the marketing team because they are based on the forecasts that management wants to send to investors, even though they know they are unachievable. Mithat (the cofounder) is rude and disparaging towards everyone.

If i'm being honest, none, really.

Cons

Directionless, with low pay and a far below average culture.

Pros

The best part about Flora is the idea behind the company.

Cons

The founders have no idea what they are doing and have one thing on their mind: grow enough to sell. One of them focuses on acquisitions and the other on operations. The acquisitions team, at least during my time there, was sending out LOIs to multiple brands and few that actually made sense or were even remotely close to the sustainability mission of Flora. The other founder, working more in operations, has zero management experience and relies more on what a quick Google search can tell him versus what his experienced employees suggest. Micromanagement is a major issue and there is no trust in those on the team. For example, he wrote an email for an employee to send, word for word, thinking that employee couldn't do it themselves when said employee had multiple more years of experience.
