Scam - Account Manager Focus Marketing Events Employee Review

Pros

The pros are that most of us were smart enough to leave within a few months, just like nearly everyone else at this so called "company"

Cons

They post deceptive job listings online. The truth of this "job" is that you will drive around all of Florida to different Sams Clubs, where you will set up a booth selling some sort of junk. They literally force you to chase people down and force them to come to your booth by literally shoving the product in their hand and then walking away. Essentially, you are harassing innocent shoppers. You do not make base pay and then commission: instead, you take home whichever is higher, either the 8.25 cents minimum wage or whatever you made in commission that week, which is usually about 300 dollars. They do not include any compensation for the excessive driving, standing in Sams clubs on weekdays and weekends for 60 plus hours a week, or the team meetings both day and night you are forced to go to WITHOUT PAY. This is a pyramid scheme, and the managers and CEO Brian know that they can manipulate recent grads or college students into accepting this minimum wage, harassing people in stores, and complete scam of a job. It is truly disgusting to know that there are people who have no problem fully manipulating young adults new to the workplace.

Focus Marketing Events Response

Thank you for your review. At Focus Marketing Events, we are always grateful for reviews, whether good or bad, so as to improve our process as a business. With that said, out of transparency and fairness to other applicants who may see this, we'd like to address a few of the opinions of this former employee. First and foremost, we are disappointed to see this former employee delete their previous review to post a newer but identical review, thus deleting our company response along with it. We feel that transparency is important to all candidates researching our company, but such transparency is not possible with a deletion of the response. Secondly, this post contains several factual errors: 1) An employee working 60 hours per week earning $300 would equate to $5.00 per hour. This review states that their understanding of the pay is a base of $8.25, not $5.00, showing a clear discrepancy of fact regarding pay. Additionally, any employee working over 40 hours in a week is required to be paid overtime pay, per state labor laws. Zero employees work 60 hours per week. 2) All employees log their own work hours using a phone application and payroll is processed by ADP, which would eliminate any chance of an employee being paid incorrectly. 3) Our company has a reimbursement policy for driving. 4) All morning work meetings are paid. There are no night work meetings. Our company often hosts "team night" activities, in which employees are invited to attend team-building activities for fun, which are purely optional. While we are appreciative of reviews, we hope that all posts aim to provide fact and transparency out of fairness of other candidates. We certainly hope that those posting reviews do not erase their posts in hopes of hiding the facts and truth. Thank you for allowing us to respond to this opinion.

Pros

Since I have started with focus marketing I have moved up very quickly!!! My first week I applied all the information my trainer provided me and I got a promotion within two weeks, just like they said people do with the proper training tools. since then I have learned how to manage a team, interview, train, communicate with professionals and have traveled for training seminars. I always feel like I am accomplishing something new each day, and If you're not moving forward, you're not applying yourself, point blank. I absolutely love the people I work with, it's a very fun team environment. Management and coworkers always give you the tools to succeed and even go the extra mile on their own time to make me feel like an asset to the company. I always feel appreciated and that's why I love what I do with this company.

Cons

There are many different challenges and different people that I come in contact with, as well as different obstacles it all just depends on how I approach them. In this day of age we live in an instant gratification world, and success doesn't come over night but working with focus marketing events has pushed me out of my comfort zone in order to graduate through the program and set high standards for myself and I genuinely believe anyone with a strong work ethic, a good attitude and patience would very much successed with this company.
