Pros

-Free products that they no longer sell or don’t approve of -Moved to a better space recently

Cons

Where do I start? The people are cold and unwelcoming. They sell non-toxic skincare products which doesn’t match the people the hire. Very cliquey and snobby. By the way, if you’re looking for diveristy, you won’t find it here. They both market to and hire one kind of person- white women. Turn over is absurd. They fire people without even giving them a chance to improve. Imagine working somewhere thinking you’re doing your job and then they randomly fire you because you apparently weren’t. You think that’s bad? They’ve had multiple people uproot their entire lives to come work for them just to fire them 4-6 months in. I’m surprised they haven’t been sued yet. On the hiring topic, they hire and put the worst people in leadership positions. They pretty much pay people to act like they’re running departments but are actually god awful and doing absolutely nothing. I can’t count how many people have left and plan on leaving because it’s such a terrible culture. You’re never in the loop of what’s going on. I remember walking in and seeing a new person in my department and not even knowing we hired someone. It’s way too small of a company for that to be happening. Don’t work here unless the above sounds appealing to you. All the nice reviews are from management making employees say nice things.

Pros

Startups can be tricky and aren't for everyone. I ultimately left Follain, but thoroughly enjoyed everyone I worked with there. I learned so much from the leadership team, many of whom were just starting when I left. Wish I had had more time to learn from them. While they're going through some growing pains, the team keeps a smile on their face, respects one another, and never gives up. They're in it together, and I think thats because they have a mission behind them. I'm confident Follain will be a huge success, and I'm sad not to be part of that.

Cons

I ultimately learned after two startups now that I'm not cut out for the hours and crazy unpredictability of startup life. There was no difference here. You sometimes never know when you'll be expected to work and respond around the clock, versus when it'll be slow.
