Pros

Middle management and below are tremendous people.

Cons

Forge is a marquee example of a company from the outside appearing to be todays ideal employer, but when you actually enter the door you find a toxic stew of cronyism, cliques, and communication silos. It starts and ends with ceo tim miller, who chooses to surround himself with senior leaders that will not question his decisions for fear of severe retribution. Inevitably this culture trickles down and permeates into the greater organization. If employee retention is high it’s because they pay well for central Ohio. It’s painfully clear the only priority is to sell the organization at the expense of work/life balance. Forge’s interpretation of “Unlimited PTO” means you can never really take time away. Life is too short and there are so many other companies that value their people. Thrilled to be moving on from this disappointing experience.

Benefits, PTO, job flexibility are higher than average for biopharma. Work is challenging. Company mission is strong and team is very connected to our purpose.

Cons

Typical growing pains but nothing severe.

Pros

- Respectful atmosphere - Flexible PTO - Decent compensation - Onsite food and drinks - Nice facility with great office space

Cons

- 6 years of non-stop, unfettered chaos. There's never a sense of regular work around here, just urgent situations and complex and expensive workarounds. - Recognition at Forge based on visibility and popularity more than quality of work - Many employees are held unaccountable for poor job performance or even refusal to do certain tasks. - Alarmingly high turnover rate. So many good people have left because of the chaotic pace at Forge. - Company used to preach work-life balance early on, but it's the opposite now. Bottom line matters most to the company. - Communication silos and single-threadedness (a small portion of the company does the majority of the work. Vast troves of untapped new employees with little to do).
