This place does a great job of making the job and opportunities sound amazing during onboarding. It’s not until you’re actually in your position where you realize how toxic the culture is. HR doesn’t do anything to help rectify or aid in the situation except the excuse that the team is just the way they are and that you need to get to know them. They basically blame ‘poor management’ for the teams behavior and would rather replace management over and over instead of hitting the nail on the head and resolve the internal issues within. It’s rather unfortunate, it seems like an amazing opportunity from the outside. I was genuinely surprised realizing how awful most of the staff are. If you work here be prepared to be back stabbed, talked about behind your back, reported to HR or your direct manager, all while they will be smiling to your face. If you try and have a conversation to clear things up, you’re bullied and lied to. “Oh there’s no issue we are fine’” Then you’ll hear otherwise from other team members or your boss when they talk about you behind your back. There is no camaraderie, they literally work against you to get you in trouble any chance they get (it feels like highschool drama). They set you up for failure. The team doesn’t lift a finger to work with you to help train or guide during the training process, yet demonize you if you don’t know how to do your job. Some of the team members will deliberately ignore you if you have work related questions (even though they are tenured), won’t ask anything about you to get to know you, yet get upset if you match energy. It’s insanity. The entitlement and overall attitude of some of the team is appalling especially coming from a company whose motto is the Golden Rule. Do not let the 3 day onboarding process cloud you. You’ll quickly come to realize how HORRIBLE the company is. Good luck to you if you work for this company. I’ve never worked with a more toxic team in my life.

Pros

Very friendly staff. Straightforward job with good pay. Overall an enjoyable job.

Cons

Inconsistent hours. Burnout can occur if you're looking for something easy. Other than that its pretty much exactly what you'd expect. Good job to have.

Free nights Lots of paid sick time (use it; trust me, everyone uses it as extra vacation, and it fully replenishes every year) Paid holidays Good benefits

Cons

Communication is terrible; act first, communicate later. Constant shifting goalposts; it seems like, before we can nail down one new kpi or project, an exec got bored and created a new one. The brand seems to have lost its roots since the founder left. If you are in FnB, you enjoy schedule flexibility, not here. If you are full-time, you will always work 40 hours unless you use vacation, and hotels are exhausting. Trading shifts is not a thing. There's no technical training. There's a lot of mandatory training, but it only covers work culture topics. Your direct manager will rarly be available since they seem to be in a meeting every hour of the day.
