Pros

Strong online training program. (this was recently developed in 2015) Strong on the ground training program. (this was recently developed in 2016) Friendly team environment. Strong team and people culture. I had a great experience whilst working with certain managers, partners and directors. The firm has its heart in the right place and the fantastic people within the firm make the firm. Anyone joining Fragomen will learn the Fragomen way of communicating and managing cases, clients and accounts.

Cons

Their talent mobility, onboarding of mobile employee in a new location is weak. Thier people management during change and transition is weak. The management and leadership team were very insensitive during the redundancy announcement and placed too many managers and supervisors as on-lookers to watch the group of personnel being made redundant, this was very dehumanising. Post redundancy the leadership team reduced their interaction and communication with affected employees - very poor. Their off-boarding of affected employees was very poor, HR avoided an exit interview. The leadership team were not present when the employees were leaving. Their people management, communication (top-down) and transparency during a planned change is very weak. Within the leadership team there are elements too conservative, hesitant and resistant to change and this prolonged tussle for details, fear of providing too much information to contain confidentiality, results in delayed communication, lack of transparency and incomplete information being trickled down to the operations team. In fact different members of the leadership team were working with different people on a common project each from their perspective. There can be heightened politics within UK Inbound managers, sometimes it can result in a lack of respect for peers, the environment can get very toxic at times.

Pros

Decent overtime pay. I also had a decent training/onboarding experience, but this was not the norm.

Cons

Exploitative, 80+ hour work weeks, 2am messages from attorneys, burn-out model for paralegals and associates (scoop them up after BA or JD and overwork them until they quit), misrepresent case load during interview by 50% of total, low ceiling for non-attorney career advancement. Have an exit plan.
