Pros
Opportunity to work as part of a large firm, some very pleasant clients, fairly good compensation for the immigration field.
Cons
Accounts are very poorly staffed and unable to handle the massive volume of casework. Clients are constantly deceived into believing that there is a "team" preparing each case. Sorry, but it is not true. Entry-level paralegals operate with very little oversight and few check-and-balances to ensure quality of work. There is absolutely no work-life balance. Turnover is extremely high and the work environment morale is awful - a large number of paralegals and attorneys only stay for a few months. Emphasis was on profitability rather than client service. Partners are surprisingly unaware of the substantive law.
