Pros
Not many, My job involved a lot of travelling as I worked on some multi country projects. I guess this would be a con if you have a family, but to me it was qute fun.
Cons
Hard to get further education in your field. Lazy salespeople created a lot of time waiting for new assignments. I was waiting for new assignments often for several months, and I dont think that there was something wrong with my skills as I now as self employed have no difficulties getting jobs. Taking initiatives on your own was never appreciated.
