I could not agree more: Our customers, projects, and people make our company a great place to work.
That is not to say that we have not faced our challenges in recent years. As we evolve from an entrepreneurship to a professionally managed company and tackle the growing pains that come with that, we recognize the importance of establishing a strong, experienced management team that is dedicated to the company’s success. Equally important is establishing improved communications with employees, particularly those who may not work at headquarters and may feel isolated or out of touch. To bring all of our employees together, we hold two annual all-hands meetings, an annual company picnic, and an annual company-organized charity event. Our approach for improving daily communication is two-fold: First, we continue to ask our senior and project/program managers to have timely and frequent communication with staff. Second, we invest in and implement tools so that all employees—regardless of location—can better access and provide information in a timely and comprehensive manner. Most recently, we upgraded our intranet site to facilitate communication. I personally make an effort to meet with employees at all levels of the company, either one-on-one, or in a group setting, in order to solicit direct feedback from them.
Our ultimate goal is to continue to invest in the people and tools that allow us to serve our customers and employees, and build a company that is poised for stability and growth.
