Pros

Big company, lots of opportunities particularly if you are willing to relocate. Lots of process. Decent benefits and opportunities for development if you grasp them.

Cons

Processes can be cumbersome and stifling, lots of tick-box exercises and political backstabbing. Jack Welch created a culture years ago of eliminating the bottom 10% each year and although Jeff Immelt worked hard to change that, the fear still persists. As such people are aggressively competitive and have no concern for a greater good; only their own advancement. Middle management are in particular fearful and trying to safeguard their own jobs, happy to throw anyone under a bus to save themselves. OK place to work but wear your armour.
