Upper management is ruthless, unethical and greedy! - Senior Engineer (Mechanical) GE HealthCare Employee Review

Pros

I worked with a lot of very talented and professional engineers at GE Healthcare. Lower managers were also pretty good people.

Cons

GEHC has always been very profitable, but at the expense of employees. Their self-insured medical insurance (administered by Aetna) is horrendous with high deductibles and constantly rejected claims for bogus reasons. Upper management rides their best employees hard so they can get their management bonuses, while the worker bees can only hope for an occasional tiny raise that doesn't keep up with the cost of living. A few years ago they intimidated current employees to sign an arbitration agreement waiving their rights to ever sue for discrimination pr else be terminated. Then shortly after, they laid off the older higher salary staff (about 20%) near retirement age, and again forced them to sign waiver claiming no age discrimination or else leave with no severance benefit...all this while being very profitable...just so they could meet their super aggressive profit goals.
