Pros

- Training's pretty good - The people I joined with were great, but my team were pretty intense and I caught them talking about me negatively behind my back. - It is interesting speaking to very senior executives

Cons

I made the mistake of ignoring all the negative reviews on here. Don't be like me and do take into account what they say. Avoid this company - it is simply a way for investors to insider trade. Be careful as they mis-sell the role when you apply. For instance, you'll do very little research and you won't get to do CFA. - You're basically a tele-sales person, trying to convince people to do stuff they don't want to do - The other side is you're almost a recruiter, trying to get people to fit a certain role. If you've got a recruiting background, it'll be easier for you to get up to speed. -You just learn soft skills, and you learn no content or anything about finance at all. - Most of it is focussed on the process and on writing emails to "position" experts. - The clients treat you badly and the company treats experts really badly as if they're just the product - Very repetitive and boring, you're doing the same thing every day and not really learning anything new or developing. - You spend your days trolling through LinkedIn and sending messages to people who don't respond, and then being told off for them not responding to you. - I thought I'd learn about industry and how investors work. You don't. You ask the experts about four questions to see if they know their stuff and most of the clients don't even want to speak with you and just like receiving emails. - Management is patronising, micromanages, focuses entirely on numbers and targets - Huge amount of politics in the company with "GLG lifers", people who've spent over 4 years. Everybody's leaving all the time - hardly a good sign. - No careers progression and the senior management spend more of their time flying to all the offices doing "town halls" where they lecture the employees. There's no overarching structure. - The managers have been promoted because they're good at what they do, but they're terrible at managing others. But there is no way for them to assessed on this, so this is never changed.

Pros

Amazing people - lots of reviews say that because it's true. You'll work with smart, genuine, hard working humans. Good benefits and perks. Interesting events and opportunities to learn. Overall, a good place to start your career!

Cons

Very fast-paced environment which definitely isn't for everyone. Lots of necessary change.

Pros

People at the peer level are great and you learn about some interesting industries

Cons

This is the worst place I have ever worked. Management does not care about you. They put on a front, but push and push and ask for more no matter how hard you work. You can be a top performer, but if you leave on time to go home they're not happy. It's never enough and the work never ends. It's just not worth it.
