Pros

Supportive colleagues who help each other navigate challenges.

Cons

- Leadership frequently relies on fear and intimidation rather than coaching, support, and constructive feedback. - Employees often feel they must carefully monitor what they say and do to avoid negative repercussions. - Open discussions can quickly become blame-focused rather than solution-oriented. - Many employees are reluctant to raise concerns, challenge decisions, or provide honest feedback due to fear of consequences. - Initiative, independent thinking, and process improvement efforts are not always welcomed and can be perceived as challenging authority. - Management frequently appears to play favourites, resulting in inconsistent treatment of employees and creating perceptions of unfairness within the workplace. - Lack of accountability for ongoing workplace issues, despite them being widely recognized by staff. - Fear-based culture negatively impacts morale, engagement, and overall workplace wellbeing. - Poor communication and limited psychological safety make it difficult to foster innovation, collaboration, and trust. - The unhealthy workplace culture is noticeable enough that even clients have commented on it. After experiencing this environment firsthand, I know I’m not alone in this as most staff feel the same way. My biggest regret was being hoodwinked in my interview into believing that this was a place where employees could feel respected, trusted, and a place to grow.

GO Communications Response

Thank you for your candid review. While we take all constructive criticism seriously and appreciate feedback at all levels, we firmly believe there is little weight, balance or substance behind the commentary provided. A point of contention behind the ‘anonymous’ review is that GO Communications does not hire or hold any position by the title of ‘Account Manager’ in the entire agency since inception which is rather perplexing. While we appreciate that not all individuals may subscribe to one particular environment or work culture, please feel free to reach out directly for a cup of coffee where we might be able to address your concerns in-person in an amicable manner. Notwithstanding, GO Communications will endeavour to continue its 16-year operational commitment to the forty-five strong individuals who continue to have aspirations and the appetite to learn, work in a team-orientated manner and be rewarded for dedication and hard work.

Pros

1. The colleagues. 2. If you love repetitive, mind-numbing routines and have completely given up on growth, this place is an absolute sanctuary.

Cons

Where do we even begin? Let’s start with the recruitment pitch. You are sold the absolute dream, an agency wonderland. - The reality?Think more "low security correctional facility." - The open-door policy is an urban legend. The moment the COO wanders into the CEO’s office, the curtain falls. I’ve genuinely seen stronger, more independent characters in a local community theater production. - If you want to understand the corporate culture, you don’t even need to look inside the office. Just walk five minutes down the road to the local watering hole any day from 12:00 PM onwards. - Now for the fascinating operational math. Word on the street is that major team leads were allegedly encouraged to depart, which naturally triggered a mass exodus of the remaining staff. Very strange for a company that somehow keeps winning "Agency of the Year" or "Best Culture."
