The company goes through a lot of "reorganizations" every few years where they let everyone go from whole departments and interview/hire back the employees they want to keep. This way they don't get involved in lawsuits for wrongful termination since technically they let go of everybody and re-hire select people. Leads to an uneasy environment about job security.
