Pros

Gartner India sales team is possibly most competitive and skilled sales team in the whole of India. The focus on recruitment coupled with the rigour that an associate goes through ensures that only the best survive and grow in the environment. Rewards performance like no other and the level of trust extended to both sales associates and area managers to manage their own business is phenomenal. This is very much by design and I will specifically commend the VP leadership group in the field sales team who have instilled this culture.

Cons

Over the last few years there have been some hiccups and issues due to some associates. This could be the result of extended trust that was misused by these individuals. Unfortunately the blame is targeted on the leadership rather than these employees themselves who have broken that trust. The one big area I see as a current issue is the alignment between field sales and MSE. There is clearly a distance approach by the respective VP’s and collaboration between the teams will do a world of good.

Work life balance, though in late 2026 will be required to go back to office. Full autonomy for your own schedule.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
