Pros
Market leader, highly regarding company. Good people with mature professional approach. Flexibility to work from home or office. Top tier clients and and at times interesting assignments with opportunity to learn a great deal about an industry and have an impact in a short period of time.
Cons
Limited interaction with colleagues and clients on many projects, intensive research and analysis and PowerPointing on most assignments (can be a grind), challenging to meet utilization targets especially in commercial consulting groups and highly dependent on the Managing Partners that sell projects, staffing process, and hours available to consultants. Some managers and Managing Partners focused just on hitting numbers, whatever it takes, and not enough focus on the needs including career development of delivery professionals. Consulting also very much second priority in company versus Research and Sales of Research Subscriptions, as this is where about 95% of profit is generated.
